Fragments from Inside (2019)

About Fragments from Inside:

  • Fragments from Inside was created to provide a different view of life, where emotions are morphed into landforms and atmospheres to be displayed together to show visible similarities and differences of a “single” composition. The fragments individually depict different landforms and atmospheres, but when viewed together, each painting influences how the others are seen.

My paintings are physical manifestations of my own feelings and thoughts that make me who I am. Some that are vibrant, some are dark and some appear abstract; to parallel life; made up of good days, bad days, and the days in between.

On good days, the sun feels warmer, connections feel stronger, and things are experienced more vibrantly. On the bad days, noise seems louder, daily tasks are overwhelming, and doubt seems to settle into my genetic make-up, surrounding me with a metaphoric darkness. Then there are some days when I feel numb to even the coldest of winds, these are the days that I feel suspended in a state of confusion, where I’m unsure of where one thing ends and another begins, like abstraction.

The good, the bad, and the times between are always experienced individually, but when brought together they form a larger picture and completely different experience. Fragments from Inside was created to encompass the complexity of human life.
