Dreamscapes was the first body of work I created as a young artist. The entirety of the exhibition consisted of achromatic landscape paintings. Compositions, value ranges, and content of each piece was a memory of a landscape I encountered in some way. Whether through exploration, photographs, quick passings in the car, I wanted to reflect on my relationship with the land- in a way that was accurate to the image in my mind.

This body of work allowed me to communicate my ideas to my viewers; I was able to show the audience how it looks to remember in black and white.

Dreamscapes will always have a special place in my heart. I felt like my truth was available, like I was finally being seen for my differences. The entirety of this body of work now lives with other people, some gifted and most purchased within the following year.
